| The USBPre is the ideal tool for an investigator or
installer to turn a standard laptop into a stand-alone digital recorder. The
USBPre can use standard off the shelf microphones or specially modified
HarrisTech microphone harnesses. The USBPre provides the end user a
microphone pre-amplifier, line amplifier, 24 bit A/D and D/A, headphone
jack, and line outputs all via the USB bus. |
|

| Note to Notebook
Computer users: For proper operation of the USBPre, turn off all
power management when using the USBPre for audio recording. Power
management reduces processor speed, system bus speed, spins down hard
disks, shuts down displays, or a combination to reduce current
consumption and extend battery run time.
* USB audio support in Windows 2000 is the most robust implementation
of USB audio for Windows. Windows ME does not support 24 bit audio
transfer over USB. Windows 98SE requires the addition of a Driver Model
Audio Update for Windows 98 Second Edition for 24 bit support.
** Mac OS 9.X Sound Manager supports 16-bit audio only.
